Artist Note:

My art focuses on the power of personal growth. I believe that growth strengthens the self to overcome internal and external obstacles, to find a voice for positive change in ourselves and our communities. I draw upon my life journey and focus on my development of identity and diversity, hoping that I may uplift others through my travails.

 

I'm currently pursuing a BFA at the Cleveland Institute of Art after a career in medicine. Materiality heavily influences the outcome of my pieces. My origins were in painting, but lately I've gravitated to metal and craft. I very much enjoy the hands-on texture as I'm working, and the challenge of creating image and form with these materials.
